The Everest Base Camp Trek is one of the most iconic trekking routes in the world. It takes you through the stunning Himalayan landscapes of Nepal, including the world's highest mountain, Mount Everest.

The trek starts with a flight from Kathmandu to Lukla, a small town in the Khumbu region. From Lukla, the trek takes you through traditional Sherpa villages, ancient monasteries, and stunning mountain vistas. You'll trek through lush forests, cross glacial rivers, and navigate steep terrain as you make your way towards Everest Base Camp.

The trek is challenging, with long hours of walking at high altitudes, but it is also incredibly rewarding. The views of the Himalayas are simply breathtaking, and the cultural experiences along the way are unforgettable. Acclimatization is important to prevent altitude sickness, so the trek includes several rest days at key points along the way.

Essential Information

Starting from March 2023, flights from Manthali to Lukla will replace flights from Kathmandu to Lukla. To catch this flight, you will have to drive from Kathmandu to Manthali early in the morning, around 2 to 3 am. Upon arrival at Manthali, you will take a short flight to Lukla. The same route will apply for your return trip, where you will fly from Lukla to Manthali and drive back to Kathmandu. This change has been implemented to alleviate the traffic congestion at Kathmandu airport.
